Bubnová, Barbora ; Šťovíčková Jantulová, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Moree, Dana (referee)
This thesis examines the changes in the funding of a selected non-governmental non- profit organization in the context of the refugee crisis in 2022. The emphasis is on understanding the changes in the funding of the organization, focusing on the different areas that provided financial support to the non-profit organization in 2022. Particular emphasis is placed on the changes in the funding of the non-profit organization by market actors. Through the study of annual reports, the external environment of the organization, its influences on the organization, has been mapped, including setting it in the refugee crisis of 2022, the context of which is the starting point for the thesis. The discussion at the end of the thesis provides possible explanations to understand the decision-making processes of the selected NGO in the context of the 2022 refugee crisis with reference to funding. The thesis also outlines the possible potential involvement of increased corporate funding towards NGOs. Key words: non-governmental non-profit organization, intersector cooperation, refugee crisis, organizational changes, funding, Resource Dependence Theory, Resource Based Perspective
Comparing media image of refugees in 2015 and 2022 in Czech Television
Křížová, Tereza ; Klásková, Markéta (advisor) ; Freidingerová, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor thesis compares media image of refugees in 2015 and 2022. The paradigm, upon which the thesis stands, is social constructivism. An important creator of reality within social constructivism is media. The image of refugees created in media, in two different crises, is the objective of the thesis. The media chosen for this was the public Czech Television, specifically the news broadcast Události, available to and watched by the general public. The created image influences the public opinion, through which it's able to generate society's views towards refugees, influencing the possibility of their integration. The reports are analysed through Ruth Wodak's discourse analysis method which allows to recognise used means of language. Based on the finding of the analysis, we can designate four main differences whilst speaking about refugees. These include naming of the refugees, responsibility of the Czech Republic within the two crises, situation at the border or context in which the refugees are situated. These differences show an overall contrast in the media image of these refugees. In 2015, the image created is significantly negative, refugees are presented as a threat from which we need to protect ourselves. In 2022 refugees are seen as victims, whom we need to aid from a humane...
The Influence of migration on internal security of selected European countries and the Czech Republic
KOLÍNOVÁ, Petra
The aim of the thesis is to analyze security in relation to the current migration crisis in selected countries of the European Union. Concurrently, the migration routes are analyzed. The aim is a deeper grasp and reflection of the problem. The theoretical part provides basic information on the current impact of open borders policy in Europe on individual countries. An integral part is the reflection of the positive and negative impacts of incoming migrants on the majority citizens of the countries. Furthermore, the thesis provides basic information from the field of Islam culture. This theoretical introduction is considered necessary for a better introduction of the reader. The methods used to evaluate the results are a qualitative research based on a search of relevant technical documentation. A number of information provided to the public for inspection, both by ministries, the Foreign Police and the European Union Statistical Office, helped to achieve this goal. The most important factors are already existing research, which was also included in this work. The theoretical framework of the thesis presents the theory of migration, foreign policy and integration as a common framework of the newly forming form of Europe. For a successful solution of the problém is most appropriate to at least marginally capture the cultural specificities of the migrant minority.
Current developent of The Greens-The Green Alternative (2017-2020)
SZPUKOVÁ, Erika
This thesis aims at giving a feedback of development of the Austrian party The Greens - The Green alternative, and analyzing the factors that have led to last years' significant events. The party successfully transformed from a protest movement to a relevant political subject. They achieved their notional top in 2016, when Alexander Van der Bellen - former federal briefer had been elected as the federation president. Not long after that, the Green party lost their parliamentary relevance on the federation level after 31 years, when they, due to strong inner disputes, could not respond to the fundamental change of the current programmatic preferences. Only two years later, they rewrote the history, when they achieved their best result in the Austrian history. They subsequently negotiated their entering into the government with the conservative Austrian People's party, despite significant programme differences between both coalition partners.

Oravcová, Bianca ; Handl, Vladimír (advisor) ; Klípa, Ondřej (referee) ; White, Anne (referee)
The minimual amount of Muslims currently present in Slovakia are experiencing hatred towards them and Islamophobia is on the rise. Research has shown that Islamophobia is produced by prejudice and fear of the uknown. This study aims to examine factors which contribute to the negative perception of refugees in Slovakia and what contributes to the rise in Islamophobia. It builds to extend the work of other scholars which have previously looked into this issue, by testing the theory and combining numerous factors together. This study therefore asks: Do economic factors and the influence of news outlets and political parties lead to negative perceptions of Muslims and therefore support Islamophobia in Slovakia? Based on this question, primary and secondary qualitivave research was conducted to test to which extent media, politics and economic situation affect perception of refugees. Analysis of responces indicated that the biggest factors contributing to Islamophobia was prejudice conducted and spread by news oultets and politians, with economic economy playing a big role in people perceived safety of their welfare first. Securitization of Immigration and Multiculturalism: The Case Study of Germany
Nguyen, Van Anh ; Šánová, Lucie (advisor) ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the process of securitization of immigration and multiculturalism within the framework of migration, immigration and integration policies focusing on the case of Germany. Using the migration-security nexus as a primary theoretical foundation, I argue that within the policies and legislations related to immigration, German governments ultimately perceive immigration as a threat at the level of state security as well as Germany's national identity. The first government I have selected for my analysis is the cabinet led by Gerhard Schröder (1998 - 2005) who challenged the romanticized perception of the German nation as a "nation of descent" by saying that "Germany is a country of immigration." Secondly, I focus on the chancellorship of Angela Merkel whose approach toward the Syrian asylum seekers in the context of the current migration crisis (9/2015 - 11/2016) has been called "Wilkommenskutlur" (or "Welcome culture"). Nonetheless, by studying the policies related to immigration as well as governments' discourses, I argue that in both cases, immigration and multiculturalism are indeed linked to security issues. Hence, immigrants are perceived as a threat to Germany's national security and its identity.
Anti-islamic movements in eastern Germany: PEGIDA and its Development
Mojžíš, Radek ; Emler, David (advisor) ; Handl, Vladimír (referee)
This master thesis deals with the development of the protest movement PEGIDA, which was founded on October 11. 2014 in Dresden. This movement speaks loudly against the Islamization of Germany during the regular demonstrations and criticizes the political situation in the country. In times of its greatest popularity it has attracted thousands of people. Nowadays its importance is still diminishing. The aim is therefore to describe the development of the movement and its characteristics. The work is divided into four main chapters. The first one explains the development in Saxony, the second one describes the development of the movement and its programmatics. It also contains the change of relationship towards Alternative für Deutschland (AfD): from an animosity into an open collaboration. PEGIDA was created as a Facebook group: with tools like Google Trends and Fanpage Karma this chapter analyzes its evolution in an online world. It also shows a declining search rate on Google and its popularity on Facebook. The last chapter is based on studies conducted among demonstrators concerning their demographic data and their views on the functioning of democracy and politics. It follows that most Pegidists do not believe in political representation and see an AfD as an alternative. The stagnation of the...
The Establishment and Development of Asylum Policies in East Central Europe
Hoffstädt, Jord Malte ; Vykoukal, Jiří (advisor) ; Najšlová, Lucia (referee)
In the light of the current refugee crisis in the European Union, and the remarkably critical stance the East Central European states are taking in Brussels, this research contributes to a broader understanding of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland's policies towards refugees. By scrutinizing the process of developing refugee policies during the 1990s and 2000s, the research will demonstrate that the countries united in the V4 platform in their first years of transition generously contributed to international refugee protection. Steep increase of asylum applicants and negotiation talks with the EU in the late 1990s brought various changes to the refugee policies in the region, marked by more closely defining and the enhancing of asylum seekers' and recognized refugees' rights, but also by lower refugee recognition rates. Accession to the European Union ultimately resulted in more complete and comprehensive asylum policies in line with the Common European Asylum System (CEAS). However, the V4 states maintained rather restrictive interpretations of the European policy, explained by the pressure the CEAS places on the states at the EU's external border and lower economic capacity to accommodate large numbers of refugees. Recent developments are mostly the result of political exploitation...
